New Roof Installation Ireland — Specified to Last 40 Years
A new roof is one of the biggest, most permanent investments you'll make in a property. Done right, a roof installed today should still be sound in 40 years with nothing more than routine checks. Done wrong — the wrong fixings for the location, a badly flashed dormer — problems start within 5 years. We've installed roofs across Cork, Limerick, Galway and Dublin since 2019, and we spec for what lasts, not what's cheapest on the day.
Which roofing material should I choose?
Most Irish homes built 1970–2005 have concrete interlocking tile. Fibre-cement slate is the step up for coastal or exposed sites — it's rust-proof and handles wind better. Natural slate (Welsh or Spanish) is the choice for period and heritage properties. Flat sections — extensions, dormers, garages — get EPDM rubber, a single seamless sheet that outlasts old-style felt by decades. Each option has a different price and lifespan, and we walk you through the real trade-offs at survey — not just the cheapest option.
Roof Installation Survey — Structural Assessment Included as Standard
Every new roof installation starts with a free on-site survey including a structural assessment — rafters, purlins, ridge boards, fascia and gutters. On a re-roof, this structural assessment frequently identifies work that needs completing before the new covering goes on: rotten rafters, corroded fixings, inadequate timber sizing for modern wind loading. We identify everything at survey stage, price it clearly, and complete it as part of the installation programme. No surprises mid-job, no variation orders for issues we should have caught at survey — that is our standard approach across Cork (021 2040925), Limerick (061 788600), Galway (091 622895) and Dublin.
Every component specified — and a free roof survey before you commit
A new roof is more than a covering. Our installations detail every component to standard: new roof truss or rafter and ridge board where the structural assessment calls for it, a fresh felt underlay layer and counter-battens across the whole deck, eaves and hip details formed correctly, valley linings in Code 4 lead, chimney flashing and zinc / aluminium flashing at every abutment, ridge capping bedded or mechanically fixed, and roof vent / tile vent units to guarantee airflow. We work in natural slate, fibre cement slate, clay tiles and concrete tile, with lead flashing to every junction. Every project begins with a free roof survey / quote, is carried out by Safe Pass & Construction Safety-certified crews under €6.5 million public liability insurance, and is backed by our 10-year written guarantee.
Related roofing services: a new roof starts with a professional roof survey; if the roof can be saved, a full roof restoration or a targeted one-off roof repair may be enough; and we also install flat-roof systems, cover commercial & industrial roofs, and provide 24/7 emergency callout response.
